The Oregon men s basketball program has now officially been hit by the one and done trend that has swept across college basketball.

Troy Brown, a five star guard who played just one season with the Ducks, announced Tuesday afternoon that he is leaving the program to enter the NBA Draft.

According to the school Jordan Bell Jersey, Brown is the first player ever to leave the Ducks after his freshman season to enter the NBA Draft.

“Troy called me shortly after 1 p.m. today and informed me that he has decided to declare for the NBA Draft. I told Troy we fully support his decision, and wish him the best, Oregon coach Dana Altman said in a released statement. “We really enjoyed working with Troy this year. He is a terrific young man and we look forward to the next chapter of his career in the NBA.”

The one and done trend started when the NBA made a new rule that required all players entering the draft to be at least one year removed from high school. That rule took effect for the 2006 NBA draft.

In his one season with the Ducks, Brown averaged 11.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Sports Illustrated has projected Brown to be the 16th overall pick in the draft by the Phoenix Suns.
